Why book with us
Mercedes Sprinter Servicing & Repairs Brierley Hill with clear advice.
The Sprinter is the workhorse of courier firms, builders and fleet operators across the Black Country, and we see plenty of them alongside the smaller Vito. We service both, diagnose warning lights, and handle brakes, suspension, clutch and engine work. Whether you run one van for your own business in Brierley Hill or a small fleet out of Dudley, we know every day off the road costs you money.
We use Mercedes Xentry, the official Mercedes diagnostic and programming system, on Sprinter and Vito vans. Generic scanners often cannot read the body, AdBlue and gearbox modules properly. Xentry lets us read every control unit, run guided tests, apply software updates and code new parts to the van. Stefan has a name for finding faults other garages miss, and this is a big part of how.
Sprinters have well-known habits. The older W906 suffers from injector seal leaks and rust on the arches, sills and door bottoms. Euro 6 vans bring AdBlue systems with sensors, pumps and heaters that can fail, and short local work clogs the diesel particulate filter. Knowing these patterns gets us to the cause quickly, so you pay for the fix rather than for guesswork.
Most Sprinters are plated at 3.5 tonnes, which means a Class 7 MOT. Many garages cannot test them, but we are a DVSA-approved Class 7 centre, and we test Class 4 too for lighter Vitos and Citans. We can usually do the MOT and service in the same visit. If anything fails, we explain it, quote it and only start repairs once you agree.
Nick and Stefan have run the workshop on Talbots Lane since 2019, and van drivers from Stourbridge, Kingswinford and Halesowen come back because the advice is honest. Racking, ply-lining and roof bars can stay in. To book your Sprinter or Vito in, or to talk through a fault, call us on 07494 990846. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.

Common questions
- Can you MOT a 3.5 tonne Sprinter?
- Yes. Sprinters plated between 3,000kg and 3,500kg design gross weight need a Class 7 MOT, and we are approved to do it. Lighter vans up to 3,000kg, such as most Vitos, take a Class 4 test, which we also do. The plated weight is on the manufacturer's plate and your V5C, or we can check it from your registration.
- Do you have Mercedes diagnostic equipment?
- Yes. We use Mercedes Xentry, the official Mercedes diagnosis and programming system. It reads every control unit on the Sprinter and Vito, not just the engine, and lets us run guided tests, apply software updates and code replacement parts. That matters for AdBlue, gearbox and body electrical faults that a generic scanner cannot see.
- My Sprinter says AdBlue fault and is counting down starts. What should I do?
- Book it in as soon as you can, because when the count reaches zero the van will not restart. The cause is often a NOx sensor, the AdBlue pump or heater, or a blocked injector, not the fluid level. We test each part with Xentry and replace only what has failed.
- What is the ticking noise on my older Sprinter?
- A chuffing or ticking from the top of the engine on a W906 or older Vito is often an injector seal leak. Combustion gas escapes past the seal and leaves black carbon around the injector. Left alone, the injector can seize in the head and the job gets bigger. We can check it and quote the repair.
- How often should I service my Sprinter?
- Sprinters use a service indicator that works out the interval from mileage and use. Hard-working vans doing lots of miles, towing or stop-start work benefit from an oil change between the main services. Give us your registration and how you use the van, and we will tell you what it needs.
- Will an independent service affect my van's warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have a van serviced by an independent garage without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the work follows the service schedule and uses parts and oils to the right specification. We record every job so your service history stays complete for warranty claims and for when you come to sell the van.
- Do I need to take out my racking or ply-lining?
- No. For a service, an MOT and most repairs we work around racking, ply-lining and roof bars. Please take out loose tools and stock where you can, so we can reach everything safely and nothing goes missing. If a particular job means something has to come out, we will tell you when you book.
- Where are you and which areas do you cover?
- We are on Talbots Lane in Brierley Hill, DY5 2YX. We look after Sprinters and Vitos from Brierley Hill, Dudley, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Halesowen and the wider Black Country. Call 07494 990846 to book. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.
- Will you start work without asking me?
- Never. We inspect the van, find the cause and ring you with a clear quote before any parts are ordered or any work starts. We tell you what needs doing now for safety and what can wait until a quieter week, so you can plan the cost around your work. Nothing is added to the bill without your say-so.
