- Can an independent garage service my hybrid or EV?
- Yes. Routine servicing, diagnostics, brakes, tyres, and 12V battery work on hybrids and EVs does not require a franchised dealer. We carry out these jobs at our Brierley Hill workshop using professional diagnostic equipment that reads manufacturer fault codes across all vehicle systems.
- How do I know if my hybrid battery is degrading?
- Common signs are reduced electric-only range, the hybrid system warning light, or the engine running more than usual at low speeds. We check the high-voltage battery using live data — state of charge, cell balance, and degradation percentage — and advise on the result honestly.
- Do hybrid brakes need servicing differently?
- Yes. Regenerative braking reduces pad wear significantly, which means the pads last much longer — but the calipers still seize if they are not exercised regularly. We inspect the full brake system including caliper operation, disc condition, and brake fluid, which degrades by age regardless of use.
- Which hybrid and electric vehicles do you work on?
