Why book with us
Vauxhall Vivaro Servicing & Repairs Brierley Hill with clear advice.
The Vivaro is one of the most popular mid-size vans on Black Country roads, and we see every generation of it at our Talbots Lane workshop, along with the smaller Combo and the big Movano. We service them, find warning lights, replace clutches and flywheels, and do brakes, suspension and steering work for tradespeople and small fleets in Brierley Hill and Dudley.
The Vivaro has changed a lot over the years. The first two generations share their engines and gearboxes with the Renault Trafic, and the latest Vivaro C is built on the same base as the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Dispatch. That matters, because each version has its own oils, parts and known faults. We check your exact engine from the registration before we order anything.
Known problem areas include gearbox bearing noise on older 1.9 vans, clutch and dual-mass flywheel wear on vans that carry weight, blocked particulate filters on short-run work and AdBlue tank and pump faults on the Vivaro C. We use professional diagnostic equipment and live data, so we find the real cause rather than clearing a warning and hoping it stays away.
Before any work starts we ring you with a clear quote and tell you what is urgent and what can wait. Nothing goes ahead without your say-so. Racking and ply-lining can stay in for servicing and most repairs. Nick and Stefan have run the workshop since 2019, and van owners from Stourbridge, Kingswinford and Halesowen trust us to give them straight answers.
We are approved for Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs. Most Vivaros and Combos fall under Class 4, which covers vans up to 3,000kg, and heavier Vivaros and 3.5 tonne Movanos take Class 7. We test both, and can usually fit the service in the same visit. Call us on 07494 990846. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.

Common questions
- How often should my Vivaro be serviced?
- It depends on the generation and engine. Most Vivaros have a yearly or mileage-based service, and the later vans show a service reminder on the dash. A hard-working van doing high miles or short stop-start trips is better serviced on time every time. Give us your registration and we will check the schedule.
- My Vivaro gearbox is whining. Is it serious?
- A whine or rumble that changes with road speed often points to a worn gearbox bearing, which is a known fault on older 1.9 Vivaros and Trafics. It tends to get louder before it fails. We road test the van, confirm where the noise is coming from and give you a clear quote for the repair.
- Why does my Vivaro C say AdBlue fault?
- On the Vivaro C the AdBlue tank and pump are one unit, and it is known to fail. The warning usually comes with a countdown of starts, and at zero the van will not restart. Book it in early. We test the system, confirm the failed part and quote the repair before we start.
- Can you MOT my Movano?
- Yes. Movanos are usually plated at 3,500kg design gross weight, which means a Class 7 MOT, and we are approved to do it. Lighter Vivaros and Combos up to 3,000kg take a Class 4 test, which we also do. Check the plate in the door pillar or your V5C, or ask us.
- Do you work on the electric Vivaro-e?
- Yes, for servicing, brakes, suspension, tyres, 12-volt battery and diagnostic work. Electric vans still need regular checks, and their brakes can corrode because regenerative braking means the pads are used less. Tell us it is a Vivaro-e when you book so we can plan the job.
- Will an independent service affect my van's warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have a van serviced by an independent garage without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the work follows the service schedule and uses parts and oils to the right specification. We record every job so your service history stays complete for warranty claims and for when you come to sell the van.
- Do I need to take out my racking or ply-lining?
- No. For a service, an MOT and most repairs we work around racking, ply-lining and roof bars. Please take out loose tools and stock where you can, so we can reach everything safely and nothing goes missing. If a particular job means something has to come out, we will tell you when you book.
- Where are you and which areas do you cover?
- We are on Talbots Lane in Brierley Hill, DY5 2YX. We look after Vivaros from Brierley Hill, Dudley, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Halesowen and the surrounding Black Country. Call 07494 990846 to book. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.
- Will you start work without asking me?
- Never. We inspect the van, find the cause and ring you with a clear quote before any parts are ordered or any work starts. We tell you what needs doing now for safety and what can wait until a quieter week, so you can plan the cost around your work. Nothing is added to the bill without your say-so.
