When should I replace the alternator?

If the battery’s job is to start the car, the alternator is the one that keeps it running. Although it has a quite a lengthy lifespan (seven years, or 100 000 to 150 000 miles), typically an alternator will last about 80 000 miles. More often than not, an alternator will go out with little or no warning. Or it will give away symptoms that may point out to other causes, such as difficulty to start the engine, clicking noises when turning the ignition key, noises in the starter motor etc. To be sure, a mechanic will be able to assess and let you know if the alternator needs replacing or not.

Battery replacement

How do I know when my car needs a new battery?

Speaking of the battery’s job and life duration, a vehicle’s battery will perform at its best for the first 3 years of its life. After 4 or 5 years, most batteries will still last, but may become unreliable. If the car does not start, the electrical equipment does not respond as it should, or you can notice a blue / white powder covering the device, you should get a new battery installed.
Sometimes batteries need to be registered into the control module, be sure we can do that as well.

We choose not to offer standard prices, because no two cars are the same. A head gasket change will incur different cost and time requirements on two different vehicles. That does not mean that we are not fully transparent with any costs.

We may not be the cheapest per-hour, but cheap and cheerful is not perhaps what you want for a vehicle designed to keep you safe when you’re rolling on the motorway at 70 mph.
